Hey Peter.Great composition/postioning on this shot. I like the color and detail that you have presented in the flesh tones. Very good control on the lighting, I like the darkness of the background and the slight hint of detail in the sweater. I bet it would have been 6+ if it wernt for the white undershirt showing at the collar. Picky DPC voters.

I like all the textures and tones in the foreground they are really eye catching. There are some excellent colors going on throughout this photo.

The Rain falling is really neat, it really breaks up the foreground and the background. I like the mountains colors and tones so many beautiful shades of blue in them.

I like that the horizon is sitting on the lower 3rd it gives great depth to the overall photo. Its a neat image and has alot of visual interest with the different sections to it.

I like the DOF used in this photo it puts all the attention on the bird. The focus is nice, I like that I can see the texture in the feathers on the birds breast and the leaves around the body of the bird. I also like the sharpness in the eye, its a very nice portrait of this bird.

My only suggestion would be to try a different crop with the photo as the composition is centered and may be a bit stronger on the lower left interstection point of the rule of 3rds. Very strong photo other than that.

I love all the textures and detail in this image. The grain of the wood is sharp and to see the crystaline snow flakes is really neat. Your white balance is dead on in this shot, not overexposed at all.

I like the diagonals that the wood and the rail make leading your eye to the screw head. I think the screw head is really neat showing the strength and what keeps it together.

Lastly I like the DOF you used and the smoothness of the white snow background makes everything really pop.

I really like the foreground interest in this shot, the flowers are nice and crisp I really like detail in the leaves and the flower.

Good positioning on the flowers as well, I really like the way they enter the frame and encompass the lower intersection point of the horizontal and vertical 3rds. This gives some really good depth annd lead in on this photo.

The DOF used in this shot is good, I like that it doesnt compete with the flowers, but you can still see the reflections in the pond and see the forest and trees.

I think alot of the issue with this photo came with the focusing, I have looked at it on 2 monitiors(one cal'd, one not) and the focus seems soft one both. It sadly seems a bit worse on the uncal'd one. I am going to give a bit of both to you and hope it helps you.

On the cal'd monitor, the colors are good, the softness dulls the texture of the mountain not giving a sharp feel to it. On the uncal'd monitor, the trees look blurred together slightly and again the mountain is not sharp.

I like the idea of it but I was one of your 5's in the challenge due to the overall photo being less sharp.

The vingetting on this image is really nice, I love the sky coloration and how it changes through the many shades until it comes down to the horizon.

There are alot of nice diagonal created in your composition giving a good feel of depth. Alot of these run away from the percieved subject of the photo (the movie screen). Be careful of this as it leads the viewer to a different area of the photo

I like that you positioned the sun so that the screen was silohuetted and the overall feel to this is really good. Its a really good capture of a dying family past time.

The photo gives me a sense of mystery and eerieness to it. The shadows and the way they create the diagonals going into to the frame give alot of depth to this photo.

The lighting from the fire makes this shot really neat. The colors of red, yellow, and orange almost seem to come alive through the shadowing the trees have created. I think the exposure is really good for th lighting used, There are a few spots closest to the fire where its a bit overbright.

Overall I think its a really cool and spooky image I probably would have given it a 7 if I had seen it in the challenge.

This says alot to me, firstly it speaks about how beauty is bout a minute in time and about death and dying.

I think the processing on the flower is really nice the colors are vibrant and the details are sharp. JMO, the Dof is done well to give knowledge of the dead and dying flowers around it.

I really think that the composition on this one with the "living" to be in the middle really works on this one. Overall I really like it I am guessing it was done with a telephoto lens due to the velvet feeling of the background, I get this with my telephoto as well.
