Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measuresby otisXmikeComment: I thought this was very clever. Probably a little too clever, since from the comments below it looks as though most people didn't get it.
And I can't believe some people thinking it deserved a brown ribbon - even with arguments of DNMC, it is still a decent photo.
Thanks for the laugh. |

Blast to the Pastby trnqltyComment: I like the expression on her face. Gives the photo quite a punch. The colour is also nice - nice hues of blue to contrast the yellow of the daisy. The background also brings out her eyes brilliantly. Message edited by author 2006-08-01 09:24:31. |

Simplistic Grandeurby AgaricusComment: Very nice photo. I didn't think it was the perfect entry for the bokeh challenge, but as a photo on its own, it's quite striking. The yellow centres of the flowers really contrast well with the blue background. |

by timmiComment: Brilliant colour. Makes me wish I could go there right now. I like how you used the water to highlight the spectrum of colours. Great job. |

red on yellowby gazdiComment: I love the contrast in colour in this shot. The DOF is good too, but perhaps the details are a little soft. Good find though - pretty butterfly. |

untitledby zxaarComment: It's a pity there weren't more people in that bottom row. Would have really enhance the whole zig-zag effect. And the bush in the bottom right is a bit distracting.
Even so, I like the overall feeling of the photo. |

Aussie Drop Bearby whatsthatbeepingComment: Seriously, what is this all about?
Is this some Aussie urban legend/superstition?
I've heard of an Aussie drop-goal, but never heard anything about bears... |

Changing of the Guardby landcameraComment: I see my comment during the challenge wasn't helpful. Perhaps I should elaborate. The focus is probably fine actually.
But the whole image would benefit from a bit of sharpening outside the camera. Try a USM in PS with the following settings 120,0.5,1 and see what I mean.
I just think that it would be improved if the text was crisper.
Despite my comment, I still gave it a high vote. I like the idea and the composition. The roll of film flowing through the frame is a nice touch. |

Perspective Escher styleby Elvis_LComment: I'd never seen the Escher drawing before reading your thread in the forums.
You made a wonderful tribute to that image. Sure, some people have said that it's a pity the tripod and camera were there, but hey, even if you'd hidden it, we'd all have known that it was there somewhere...
I think the unhidden camera introduces a fun/candid aspect to the photograph: you can see a photographer at work who is clearly enjoying what he is doing. It still remains a great picture.
Well done. And thanks for bringing some new influences to my attention. |
