Gosh, I guess that's in reference to mine. Apologies if my comment seemed cruel. It certainly wasn't my intention to be. Just that Shakespeare is much easier heard than read, and I still don't quite know what the heck he means!

I do like your poster, although I think the sky suffers a little from exposure. Perhaps if the image were larger as well, we'd get to see more foreground detail? My eyes desperately search around those trees for the beauty I know is there, but can't see....

Wait, maybe that was the idea...?

Dark. A glimpse at the post apocalyptic.

edit to clarify: This is not meant to be negative. In fact, quite the opposite. I'm very much impressed by your work on this. The somber light is gripping and to me, almost sinister. Most likely a far cry from your intention, but nonetheless, my initial "reaction" :)

I've got to learn to elaborate more sometimes, eh?

This is way cool. This I would print as large as I could get it. Love the framing, love the green cast, love their relaxed poses. Awesome!

Excellent pose and tones once again. The only thing I find a little annoying is the lock on the door. My eyes keep getting drawn there and away from her lovely face.

I'm an emotional voter first, technicals second. I do not like cats. So... for me to set aside my vehement dislike for these creatures, the shot has to be something pretty darn special. This image is not helping me overcome my bias. Here is my thought process while voting, hope it gives you some insight:

The first thing I notice (after the initial shock of those evil, evil eyes ;P) is the harsh lighting. The catchlights have purple fringing and it looks like bad flash fill. But hey, it's a black cat, how else are you supposed to get detail in the fur, right?

Ok, so then I force myself to take a closer look and realise there isn't a heck of a lot of detail in the fur on the nose or between the eyes anyway. Is this a focus issue, or something that went astray in pp? Either way, the vote isn't looking all that hot for you at this point.

I didn't much like the downward point of view, nor the diagonal tilt in composition. Not sure I could feel intimidated by something I'm looking down on, much less think it would jump out at me.

Then, I notice the border... :( I'm a huge fan of borders and matting to 'close' images, but I think it needs to be kept fairly simple. I realise you were going for a screen/3D look, but since I had issues with the image itself, that effect didn't work for me.

In a nutshell, I really did take a good hard look at the image and not just the cursory 3 seconds most give, and... well... I still didn't find it very appealing in any way.

Feel free to PM me if you're not sure of anything I've said here. I've tried to be as honest as I can :)

Cheers,
Rina.

How dare you? What makes you think you can just come in here and crush 164 other entries with your clear, bright, colourful, beautiful shot that perfectly conveys the motivational message of your poster, along with your fancy-pants use of fonts to polish off the whole package? Huh? HUH?... You want a 10? Is that it? FINE. I'll give you a 10...

Ok, so the photo's not that technically great. Over-exposed, funky looking coloured fringing, and it looks like a slight lean to it as well... BUT!! - It's a perfect moment in time to have captured and is pure delight when put together with your message. Love it! 8
