Ends of the Earthby ZoomdakComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment now. The colors of the sunset at the beach are gorgeous!! The red, orange and golds are a deep rich hues too that are very appealing to look at. The colors on the shoreline are like liquid fire. Love how there is one lone sandpiper that populates the shore line and then our eyes travel up to see those three mountainous ranges of rock off beyond the waves. Beautifully composed and well presented! |

Yellowby SteveinnzComment: Voted earlier coming back to leave comments now. Love the colors on this composition. Bright sunshine, yellow colors on the flower and beautiful coloration and patterns on this butterfly. There are lots of great details in this capture too especially on the butterfly. The wings show off alot of detail in pattern and color but I also see great details in the compound eyes, the legs, antenae and the outstretched proboscis as it takes a sip of nectar. |

Ospreyby subject22Comment: Voted earlier coming back to comment now. This is a fabulous shot of this Osprey coming in for a landing! Love the sharp details we see as this bird of prey focuses on landing... from the details in the feathers in the outspread wings to the beak & head, and to the outstretched talon getting ready to grasp hold. I marvel at the luck, patience or both of those who have been able to capture such beautiful captures of any birds of prey. I have tried with very little success of my own for they just move to fast out of frame before I have time to focus so I truly appreciate the time and patience needed to capture a really good shot of these birds. |

Beyond the rock into the great earth beyondby RefwhettComment: Voted earlier coming back now to leave some comments. Would you *LOOK* at the stunning colors and view in this shot!!! It has print or calendar written all over it. Even better was that you got to experience this natural beauty live! Love the rich colors from the greens to the blues. The composition is fabulous too! I get the sense of standing just off the the left peering out from the outcropping of rock as my eye travels to the mountain range off to the far right to then sweeps down the slopes to the green diamond patch of valley below and then travels that patch of land that bridges the gap over the ocean to the mountainous island that lies in the center. I also love how you captured the sun peering out from the rock face on the left such that there are some marvelously strong rays of sunshine visible. |

Graceby lentilComment: Voted earlier coming back to leave comments now. What a great high key portrait of this beautiful girl!!! Just look at those big, beautiful eyes...and that expression! I wonder just what she is so curious about that has grabbed her attention? Again, I come back to the eyes - very bright, alert eyes that really draw our attention in. You also captured some wonderful catch lights too. Great job on this portrait! |

Girls on the Pierby annigComment: Voted earlier coming back to leave comments now. I can't help but hear the song "Sitting on the dock of the bay..." This photo sooooo captures a relaxed laidback feel of sitting on the dock on a hot summer day chatting away with friends. Love the silhouettes and the addition of the sailboat in the composition is a wonderful - it further strengthens the idea of a day at the lake. You composed it wonderfully with the dock extending out from the bottom right corner towards the middle of the shot, the sailboat occupies the mid far left corner and then all the rest is the lake, sky, and the mountains that cut accross the middle of the photo. A very eye pleasing arrangement of elements. Love the colors too - the bright blue sky with the billowy white clouds also helps cement the idea of a relaxed day at the lake. The processing where the edges fade out to white is a nice touch too for it invokes the idea that this is a memory flashback to a enjoyable time in the past. |

Morning in Irelandby BlackdoGphotoComment: Voted earlier coming back to leave comments. Wow! The colors are stunningly beautiful and rich in tones! The landscape with the single white horse and what looks like ancient stone ruins in the backdrop is a lovely sight to behold. The details are wonderful as that I can see with such clarity the directions of the fur coat of that mountain pony. I also love how the early morning sunlight plays upon the tail, legs, and face of the horse that baths it with a nice golden glow. The greens of the region seen here showcase the deep rich and lush vegetation. Sigh, someday, I'd love to see Ireland but for now I have to settle to see it through the photographic captures of others that highlight the beauty of the place. |

Survival of the Fittestby jbsmithanaComment: Voted earlier coming back to leave some comments. WoW and Wow! Absolutely LOVE the outstretched wings as it takes off - I see such beautiful detail in the feathers as it is taking flight. And it is not just the details of the wings but in the whole majestic bird: talons, beak, hunter eyes... Love how you captured an action shot that also tells us a story - The hawk has caught it's prey and has taken it's fill as it now takes flight to the skies again. A bloody display of Darwin's survival of the fittest. The snowy white backdrop really allows the bird to contrast quite nicely with it's environment. This is a beautiful shot and luck, persistence or both helped you get the shot. I gave up about a year ago to get a sharp as a tack photo of a hawk or eagle in flight, so hats off to you for this fabulous capture. |

Total Lunar Eclipseby marboComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment now. There is such FABULOUS detail seen in this moon photo! Craters, gouges, and such... The red color almost makes me think of Mars - but I have seen pictures and blood red/reddish moons before. Harvest Moon? I like that you did not do a close crop such that all we see is the moon for the black backdrop of space and the stars really complement the photo. |

Overtureby StructorComment: Voted earlier coming back to comment now. This landscape picture is stunningly beautiful. Love that stoney mountainious cropping of rock off to the right - almost looks like a castle that nature constructed. Cloud cover is mesmerizing - details are good such that I can see a rainstorm off in the distance by the far distant mountains. Looks like it is low tide or those distant rainstorms were by for there is water pooled in the sand basin in the foreground. Love the shapes of the curves in the sand basin for it adds an added visual interest. Colors are wonderful too. I can smell the salt in the air of the beach and the feel the moisture in the air from the far distant rainstorm as I look upon this image. I also love the widescreen cinema border for it gives you the sense of a grand scale image. Great work! |
