The Invisible Man - H.G. Wells

The Invisible Man - H.G. Wells

A good attempt in bringing the Invisible Man out and onto the cover:-) Lighting is good and the details and composition is strong. There are a few things that could have been done to make this composition even more stronger. First there is the sunglasses resting on what would be the neck. It would strengthen the illusion if the glasses were floating in mid-air like that of the hat. To have it rest on a solid object ruins the illusion of an 'invisible man'. Very fine fishing wire tied to the back of both temples and one on the bridge of the glasses attached to the hat would give it the stability it needed to float under the hat (and if the line showed up due to the angle of lighting one is allowed to edit it out in Advanced Editing) The other small thing is be careful of the lighting - there are faint shadows on the inside of the underside of the hat that ruins the illusion.

Children of a Lesser God

Perfect! Love the silhouette's of the children at play at the beach blowing bubbles. The sun's brilliance bursts into the scene. It is the sun that gives light and warmth to the scene...to the children. And it can be seen as God's presence - the eye in the sky watching. Children of a Lesser God - the captured scene is silent frozen in time - but I can hear the sounds of the surf and the laughter of the children at play. The tones/shadows and highlights are very well done. Excellent job in capturing this title. I hope to see this in the top 5.

First I'll have you know that I was looking up book titles from the challenge to see if they existed....and I found out that there is a book and from there it went to Youtube to see Heston's creation of Alice in Wonderland's Drink Me potion. That was the beginning of the end of me voting for the next 2 days while I enjoyed the crazy and fantastic show of his...and of course the fault of pointing me in this direction is all yours:-) :-) Love what I saw just wish there was DVD's of this show. Just wanted to thank you for getting me hooked.

O.K. enough of the ramble. This shot attracts the eye's attention for it is definitely on strange/surreal side because we have a feast but then there is that menacing pig mobster with the gun in the back. As the viewer we wonder "What the????" I like how you are 'recreating' the show's aspect of a themed feast here. I think that the picture could be far more stronger if the food and guests were in much sharper focus. The guests and the fruit/bread centerpiece is rather soft and a touch out of focus. Tripod and higher ISO and shutter speed might have been what you needed here as that I am guessing that it might have been a slow shutter speed and that may have caused it to be less in focus due to camera shake. Another small suggestion: a letterbox presentation could also help strengthen the photo composition. The reason is that there is a little too much empty 'black' space in the upper 1/4 of the photo that does little to complement the scene. Placing the main subjects/composition in a letterbox/long rectangle format would cut that dead space out but also mimic/compliment the rectangle shape of the table - this is where the feast begins and it would be a subtle way to keep the viewer's focus and attention on the action happening here all the more.

The fairytale has come to an end - love this presentation of the Little Mermaid story (and other fairytales akin to it).

Glad to see that another photo from the GTG did so well in this challenge. It is a very well composed shot Marko. I like your shot of this homeless man and his dog more than mine - reason being that you captured the receiving cup along side with the help sign, the man is looking up so that the viewer can more easily establish eye contact (you get the sense of actually being there to see him asking for help rather than in mine where it just feels you are just observing from afar), and the sepia processing is very well done to call even more attention to the subjects without the distraction of color.

Well done Cory! Now I know why you choose the spot where you were. The low angle and side view gave your DPC audience a feel for not just the performer and her act but the reactions of the crowd behind her. Kate had such a wonderfully expressive face and you captured the 'having fun' aspect very well. Glad to see that a candid street shot did so well.

Very bold and graphic - makes the eyes swim to stare at it too long. The B&W processing makes this pop very well. And wow, this is very definitely a great place for a photo opp ;-)

Nice capture. Heh, you and I both spotted that this little boy was very photogenic subject! I have a shot of him looking up and staring at Waddy as he is taking a overhead photo of the crowd with the camera on that pole.

Holy Moly! Now that is one steep hill! At least it has tiers/levels to it - this is a great perspective. I am trying to figure out if that is the top of a trolley car I see at the top of the rise or part of a building. Can't be sure.
