Meow?by ShutterPugComment: I really like this close up from the tiger pics that you have taken ... it takes good advantage of the threatening type grumpy look he has ... I do like the crop but wonder if it could have been cropped slightly taller (top to bottom to give a little more height to the picture. He is a stately animal and you captured that well. |

bigsky2.jpgby dustinwilsonComment: Would be easier to do a critique if you completed the details of aperture, ss, etc .. and also if you included comments on what you are trying to achieve. By responding to each comment in the way that you are .. you don't seem to be valuing what is being said but taking offence and making excuses for what is a perceived minor issue.
That said:
I like the picture .. I don't know if black and white is not an overkill here .. it may be. I know you have said that the bottom of the picture is bad .. but it is missing and this picture makes it feel that it is missing ... even if you were able to take the time and clean up the bottom and put it back it would be worth a shot .... I am not sure that the moon adds much to this shot ..
These are person opinions .. so don't take offence ... you are doing well and improving all the time.
Cheers

Light on the other sideby stanm2Comment: ::: Critique Club :::
Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.
Interesting to do a critique on your image but it is difficult if you don't give us any information in your photographers comments. When we do a critique, we go past just the photographic result, that's what voters comments do. The critique looks at what you were trying to achieve, how you wanted it to look and what issues you had in getting the image captured and ready for voting.
First Impression - the most important one:
I think this is loely, but it is a little flat.
Composition:
Very very centred .. it works ok for this shot .. but not for all ... have a search on rule of thirds .. this may help in future.
Subject:
meets the challenge.
Technical (Colour and light):
This is a little flat as mentioned by the other commentors ... this could be corrected through contrast being added.
To grow its vote?:
think about how others see what you are looking at. What is interesting in the shot .. and what you think will come of it ...
Summary:
This is great for your second challenge .. well done and keep it up!

The critique looks at what you were trying to achieve, how you wanted it to look and what issues you had in getting the image captured and ready for voting.
First Impression - the most important one:
Meets the challenge and is clear ...
Composition:
The pot is rather centered ... have a look at some of the tutorials around on thirds .. or composition .. this may help with future shoots.
Subject:
Meets the challenge.
Technical (Colour and light):
They colours are ok .. the lighting is fine .. but this is almost just a snapshot.
To grow its vote?:
Think about composition .. think also about how to take the challenge to the next level.
Summary:
You are doing well .. keep it up.
If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.
