heh, this is a reverse lens at -50mm or so. Somethine like 3:1 macro. I don't have an adapter, so I had to leave the apeture open to full 3.5.

I actually like this version better I think David, seems to fit the minimalist feel. I figured out that this was Jell-O, it's a wonderful idea, and well executed. I'd love to know how you got that perfect gradient onto your background.

I'm thinking you should have lit the background up instead of the glass, and let the light shine through, those reflections are distracting from an otherwise very good refraction. Also having the glass off-center makes me feel lopsided.

Wow, so much to go over. First off, go over to www.photoinf.com and look up this article: //www.photoinf.com/General/Johannes_Vloothuis/landscape_composition_rules.html

Pay special attention to #21 and #22 for this picture. Yes, it is a painting article, but the pricinples translate.

Read the rest of the stuff on the site, it's all great, and some of it crosses over and repeats, but it will all help you with your photography.

I took some pictures of my shoes that were pretty much like this. I didn't enter it for one reason: it's too un-DMNC (does not mee challenge) the only thing here IS the texture really. The seam is nicely placed, but there's just not much else to look at. There's really just not much to get excited about besides some technicals and nice lighting.
