From another direction without the casino in shot would have worked better. You can see some nice forms in the 'branches' around the other side. Perhaps you should have concentrated on those.

The close macro shot is too much an insect shot and relegates the branch to the backseat missing the brief. Pulling out to relax the viewevers attention away from the caterpillar and let it camoflague itself would have fitted the challenge by bringing the branch back to centre stage and made this idea a lot stronger.

The effect of the wire fences takes a lot away from this unusual shape of the solitary branch on a dead tree. I like the thought process of trying to include the other close layer to both frame the tree and make the fences a feature though, and I kind of think you pulled it off. well done. 8

I can't see the connection to the theme "branch", sorry!. Not that i want to see a picture of a branch of course, but this link just seems to be so tenuous as to be in the realms of Times crossword clues. An adorable pet pic however. Maybe a row of little pups suckling on mums belly would fit the theme you were aiming for?

An inventive and interesting take on the theme. Nice composition of elements: line in the tracks and shape of the bridge and the form in the switch apparatus. The focus on the switch seems slightly off though. Take the writing on the box beside it as an indication. 7

A good shot of the plant/factory whatever it is, but doesn't fit the challenge, since the trees seem incidental to the main subject, and says nothing relating to branches of any kind.
