Right of Center (for a while)by bowhennComment: *Critique Club*
"Right of Center (for a while)" fits into the Off Center challenge. At first glance I really do like this, especially because it is something different to see. Also I think creativity for the title was a very excellent element of this piece, in the challenge.
The composition of this image is very lovely. There is a very nice overall feel to the shot. Also I like that you were able to include the fountain and give the shot some movement. One thing that is a little unsettling is there seems to be a tilt from the bottom left side, I think it wouldn't be so obvious if it were for the house. Since the viewer is drawn to the house they start to look at the top and wonder if the shot is uneven. It is a small enough title not to make the image completely unusable, but probably noticeable. Good work.

Glowby tonyvComment: *Critique Club*
"Glow" is a very striking piece, defiantly grabbed my attention. This meets the off center challenge, I really like how it is off centered yet you mange to leave the image balanced.
The glow is absolutely amazing, the coloring is so strong. This really looks like a shot for a movie cover, like Hunt for Red October. The sun look unreal. I really like the crop and how you used the length to fit the boat. The composition is excellent, it really feels like a complete shot.
I think the off center challenge is one were people really do have a specific idea in their minds and are really looking for an off balance shot, that's the only think I can really see as to way your shot did not place higher. |

painful gripby redpandaComment: *Critique Club*
"Painful grip" seems like a pretty well centered shot. Maybe you were referring to off center because the subject is upside down, I could see that. I think the full frame seeming pretty centered might be why the score was not higher.
The shot itself is amazing in its timing. I really like the motion that you captured with the slow blur/glow around the movement of the legs. The composition is great. Even the composition really isn't effected by the lady in the background watching because it is such a strong subject. Also good use of diffusion to soften the edges and allow to focus to remain on the subject. This really is an awesome action shot. |

Daisyby angela_packardComment: *Critique Club*
"Daisy" is a prefect fit into the Off Center challenge. Just from the very first glance at this shot it looks like a very nice attractive shot. I think a lot of time people glance through the thumbnails to see which shots they want to vote on and this one is bound to grab their attention.
The image its self is very striking, I think you used the prefect color combination to have a natural look but enough contrast to bring out the subject. I think the glow on the flower makes this piece, but that is my opinion. I also like how it feels softer because of the glow. The composition and lighting are excellent in my opinion as well as the diffusion. I really thought it would place higher. Keep up the excellent work. |

My Best Sideby o2bskatingComment: * Critique Club*
"My Best Side" defiantly meets the Off Centered Challenge. The title is a great element to set the mood of your piece.
The shot itself is very nicely taken. I really do love the feel and composition. The second bird makes it obvious who the odd man out is. I think you left enough in the background to keep it interesting but still aloud the subject to remain the focus without some sort of distraction. The only thing I could possibly see changing is leaving the feet/legs in the shot. What I find really amazing is their is not bird poo on the railing the birds are sitting on. Overall this is really a great shot. |

Winter Pondby STEINRComment: * Critique Club*
"Winter Pond" is nice fit in the Off Center category. I think this would have fit well into a nature category as well. This strikes me as a nice, quite, calm piece.
Technically the shot looks OK. The grass appears to be a little too green, almost as if the contrast was turned up too high. I really do like that you left surrounding objects in to show the depth of field. I feel as thought I am just sitting and looking out on the water, and very cold while I am doing so. I think the illusion of cold
is coming from the crisp color of the water, plus the snow (more then likely it wasn't an illusion for you). I would probably say if the subject had a little more interest it would have grabbed the voters . Keep up the good work. |

Bremboby carrielingComment: Great motion, I am really glad you were able to capture the tire moving to show the vehicle is moving and not just sitting in place. |
