I like the simplicity of the shot and the colors. However, even though I know there is liquid in the glass, if I were to show this to someone and say, "guess the category" It might take them a while to come up with the word beverage.

For me, I wish there was more overall focus. The overall bright orange tone is a bit much, but I do like the angle you chose to shoot from. Shows creativity.

Greetings from the Critique Club.

For me, if you were to just show me this photo and say, guess what this represents, I would not think of the word conspiracy. In that regards, it's difficult to know what you were thinking when you took this. If perhaps there was a faded moon in the background, it would have aided in the overall conspiracy effect.

I do like the angle and composition you choose. Some might not like the softness, but I think it works okay here. The faded blue adds to that softness, whereas a newer flag wouldn't have that same feel.

The lighting is also good and the solid black background keeps my attention and focus on your subject matter.

I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Greetings from the critique club.

I liked the concept of your entry for the challenges. People have long believed that UFO's are indeed government conspiracies, etc.

I like the lighting - the orange glowing type effect. The thing that made this less "realistic" were the two semi-circular shapes on the "spaceship" itself, and the rim.

Simplicity in composition works well, and I like the solid black background. It keeps the viewers eyes on your subject matter. I do find the white border just a bit distracting as there is no other "true" white in your photo. Sometimes I find choosing a color from the photo itself tends to lessen any such distraction.

Overall though, good entry in the challenge. It shows a cleverness and creativity. Keep up the good work.

Greetings from the Critique Club.

I think many, many viewers could relate to this conspiracy photo very easily.

I like how you used the mirror, good angle. One thing I like to see in photos is having the subject slightly off-centered in the shot as it lends a bit more interest to the eyes. I find the pump hose a little distracting and I might have cropped in a bit tighter, say on the right (which would have placed the focus of your shot off center).

Good lighting and the solid, vibrant colors work well also. It's one of those photos where you just look, nod in agreement and wonder who those "conspiraotrs" are. In other words, you effectively and quickly communicated your message to the viewer. No tilting the head and trying to figure out what the photographer was trying to say. Nicely done.

Greetings from the Critique Club :-)

I think this was a good conceptual idea for the conspiracy challenge, though it takes a bit of thought for some to see the conspiracy, and some might not be able to understand until told.

I like the off-centered composition of the pole itself. One thing I would have changed is to crop out the trees at the bottom as they are distracting. Visually, when I first look at it, the crossed wires make it look very busy to the eyes, but you have the nearly monochrome background to counteract that a little bit. After looking at the photo my eyes begin to recognize the negative space and shapes created by the wire patterns, and I like that part.

With a photo that has what I call "breathing room" (or space), you might want to think about adding some sort of border to give it a finished feeling. I find choosing a color from within the photo always provides a nice compliment.

Again, a good concept and nice take on the conspiracty challenge. I hope you find this information helpful.

Great closeup. I think squirrels are great and so much fun to watch. I like the orange bits (leaves?) by it's front paws. Just a great shot in my opinion.

Hello from the Critique Club

This is a wonderful photo. One of those photos that tells a story, or the viewer can create a story from. The attention to detail, like the "hobo" bag is wonderful. Terrific perspective as the rail guides the eyes into the back of the photo.

I also find the use of black and white very effective, and gives it a 1950ish feel to me. Good contrast too.

For me, the only thing I would be interested in seeing differently would perhaps be a slightly thinner black border. Overall, a great shot and one to be proud of.

This made me laugh. I like the composition and colors. I might take a bit of the blue saturation down from the background, but a really fun photo.
