Black Grainby macrothingComment: While you do have grain in your photo, for me, the whites have been overblown with post-processing...although you might have been going for a certain look. I do wonder how this would have looked as a simple black and white with a bit of contrast and the same amount of grain. |

Foggy footballby sjonniComment: I like the players on the field - they're close to being silhouettes. Unfortunately, my eyes keep getting drawn upwards to the bright lights and away from what's most interesting - the players. |

Make a wish.by drz01Comment: The idea isn't bad, but the blurred faces and harsh lighting remind me of a snapshot in a family album. I think if you had zoomed in a bit more on the birthday girl, added a bit of sharpness yet maintained the grain and changed it over to black and white or sepia, I would have voted it better. Keep shooting though - and I am by no means an expert. Just trying to make comments and give my personal opinion - hope you don't take offense. |

Walnut Eyes and Orange Tiesby stare_at_the_sunComment: While there is grain in the sky and the composition is good with the low horizon, the subject matter doesn't hold my interest as well as other entries. Too bad there wasn't any lightening - or something to add a bit more interest. |

Black-eyed Susansby drydocComment: Nice black-eyed susans. While there is grain in your background, the flowers themselves don't seem to have any. I wonder how this would look as a black and white with a bit more contrast and grain overall? |

Fog Dropsby grahampComment: This is a nice shot of the sun's rays through the trees. For me, it doesn't quite fit into the grain challenge as well as other entries, but again good capture of the light rays. |

Out of the Murky Waterby cloudsmeComment: My favorite part of your photo is the fish on the far right. My least favorite part is the fish on the left - although it is in the grainiest part of yout photo. It's an okay photo, but for me, it doesn't hold my interest or make me say "wow" compared to other entries. |

America's Finest Cityby emtmdhComment: Not bad, and with a few adjustments I think this could be better. It seems to be tilting to the left and I wonder if rotating the horizon a bit clockwise would help? Also, and this is just me personally, I find that black and white or sepia photos with grain have greater impact than color photos. |

Telephoneby MichaelCComment: I read your title...and I'm guessing that the person in the foreground is on the telephone, but it's difficult to discern. Personally, I'm not a fan of blurred motion shots and therefore I have given you a lower score compared with other entries in this challenge. It's artsy, I suppose...but just not my cup of tea so to speak. Sorry. |

Mystic Doeby pedahel7Comment: I don't know what post-processing you used, but for me, this is a soft photo, especially with the glow and luminescent white around the legs - almost the opposite of how I'm looking at the grain challenge. Nice photo and composition, but for me doesn't meet the challenge criteria as well as other entries. |
