The quality of this photo doesn't quite look right. The child's face looks to me to be over-exposed and the entire image appears to have quite a bit of noise.

Difficult dynamic range to deal with here. The statues (which are very human looking BTW) range from very shadowed to overexposed on the left side. I think I might have tryed a grad ND filter to balance out the light a little. JMO.

In addition to the main subject looking human, I feel that the lighting is flat. For me, I'm trying to understand the point of the image. The really great photos are those that work in the challenge but also stand on their own as wonderful photos without a challenge to belong to.

In addition to being very human looking, the lighting is a little flat and I would have liked the background to have been less busy (maybe using a longer lens and bigger aperture to minimize the DOF). JMO.

Sorry, I have to say that I'm not a big fan of this pic. I feel that the lighting is very strong, with a fairly bright area along the top of the image that is distracting for me. The gull along the left edge that has been cut off by the crop is also a distraction and leads the eye out of the photo, IMO. My personal preference would have been to have had a littl more DOF. I searched for quite some time to find the focused gulls. JMO.
