I've never understood why your food photography in the past hasn't scored better. You're tops in my book. Congrats!

This reminds me of the old apartment building I lived in when growing up in Brooklyn, NY. The clothesline went out much further than this and you had to lean out pretty far out the window to reach the rope that was attached to a rusty old pulley. The damn thing wasn't very safe especially being 5 stories up.

Anyway, nice image. Everything fits in the frame comfortably. There's a harmony.

Nice to see this on the front page. I'm glad you couldn't remove the lens flares. I like them.

For me this is a rather depressing photograph. What I see here is the spoils of power. It's the subversion of nature and the exploitation of labor. The inclusion of the man who's features you cannot see and the clouds at the top that look like smoke make this a very strong photograph as well as the composition you chose. Well done.

Edited to fix spelling.

This brings back memories from my trip there last year. I still remember the smell and the flies.

Looks like a spider on fire. :) Actually, the web looks a little like a body of water reflecting sunlight and the front leg leading up to the joint look like a shooting projectile coming out of the water.
