Wishesby IndigoButterflyComment: Ahh this is cool. I love the framing and the lighting is fantastic. Even though this color version looks great you might try looking at this in black/white also. I just pulled this in PS and applied a gradient map and it looked pretty damn good to me although you do lose that cool looking red glow on the boy. However, you could go the selective desaturation route. |

surfer3by IndigoButterflyComment: I like the action here. Good cropping too. You know this might work very well as a black and white image. |

Docked Boatsby IndigoButterflyComment: I like the tonal range here. It has good detail in all areas. This might sound silly but I'd go ahead and move that bird in the top left corner and place him more in the middle where he can be seen more easily. It might an add an extra touch to an already good image. |

Compadresby JutildaComment: Fantastic. Could they have posed any better for you? Geesh. Oh and nice editing once again. This definitely has a country feel to it. |

Sweetby JutildaComment: Originally posted by CalliopeKel: aww...nice close up. I never knew texas had so many critters. |
I can't speak for the rest of Texas but in my backyard I often see 10-20 of them at a time. However, I still haven't caught one as good as this. Speaking of which, I love the whites and blacks in this photo. Really stylish looking. Message edited by author 2006-07-02 01:01:41. |

Soup and Beerby ShermyComment: I agree with Judy. Very nice shot and the editing to match. I probably would have liked to see a wider DOF and also maybe not darkening the whites of his jacket but that's just nitpicking. Really great work here. The best part is the guy's expression and the level of detail you brought out. |

No Parkingby ShermyComment: I agree on the editing. Very rich tonal range. The image is nice to look at but it would be even better if there was someone in the shot whether it was a model or someone just hanging out. |

Bad Dreamby ShermyComment: Perfect angle and DOF you used here. You did an amazing job here capturing the feel of lying on the road with that angle and DOF. I also like the duotone look which helped to minimize the effects of the clipped highlights. About the only thing I'd think about doing is cropping a bit from the left. |

Pulp Fictionby ShermyComment: I remember liking this one in the challenge but I guess I didn't leave a comment. Speaking of which I liked yours about the cigarette and you don't even mention the gun. Well, I agree this should have scored higher since you did such a great job recreating this. I would definitely suggest brightening it up just a hair but otherwise this is good as is. |
