Day Dreamerby ssmith363Comment: Very sharp image out of the camera. The tonal range is also excellent. Overall very nice! You seem to capture the mood real well. If you were to do any editing work I would maybe remove that crystal in the background (far right) but that's about it. |

DSCF1004.JPGby ssmith363Comment: I like your floras photos but this one is probably my least favorite. The composition more than anything else is the issue for me. The way the stem cuts through the image on the left side makes this hard to read a bit. It acts as a stopping point. Also, the contrast on this could be boosted a bit. Looking at some of your others and this it seems your black point just isn't black enough which I found more of an issue with this photo DSCF1006.JPG but felt it also applied here as well. I do like the soft aspect as it lends well for floral pics. |

M A S K E Dby librodoComment: I love this one. There is a connection there that transcends past the mask/gate. |

2006-08-25by talmyComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
First impression is this meets the challenge but little else. It's a nice scene in general but I feel too much care was made into trying to meet the challenge vs making a more appealing photo.
I like the composition especially how the hills create a leading line along with the fence. The fence post however, I don't particular care for.
As for improvements I would do something about that sky for starters. I assume there isn't anything you can do in photoshop but if there is some detail there I would try pulling out whatever is there. If not just be more aware of your skies before heading out for a shoot. Also, I'd try and avoid including fence posts. If it wasn't there and you had better sky and some more post processing this would have scored much higher, IMO. |
