That's not true at all. Just look at all the waterfall shots that do well. :P Seriously though if this had wonderful, cheerful colors... well you know. However that said, it most definitely would do well as is in a candid type challenge but then again maybe some non-candid dressed in candid clothes would probably still win. :P
