Good choice in subject. However, I feel the choice to go closeup with a tight crop wasn't such a good idea. You lose too much of the context, the character and the mood because of it. As a result it feels more like you're dumbing it down and making it more of a stock image so as to suit everyone. While that may get you a slightly better score it will only get you so far. Just my opinion though. I will say that you're at least on the right track in terms of the challenge, which is saying something because so many didn't get it.

Fits the challenge but that title makes me not want to like it. I rather have thought that this was found and you composed it well within that scope rather than think of it as a setup shot, which demands more scrutiny. Anyway, I'm just rambling. In a challenge where most didn't get it and this one did, I can't take off much for my bias. Good luck.

This is a really nice shot but my problem with it is it doesn't meet the challenge in the least. What you did here is show beauty in the beautiful. That isn't Wab-Sabi, which in a nutshell is beauty in the ordinary, the aging ordinary. A chair with paint chipping off would be one possible example.

Nice toning and the harsh light works well for the subject. Not crazy about the composition though. Feels awkward to me. Other than that good shot. Much better than most who didn't get the concept of the challenge. Good luck.

Easily the blue for me. It's the only one that looks like it was shot by someone who's already been there.
