I like this one. You might want to try adding an hsl adjustment layer in overlay mode and bump up the saturation on the magenta to give it a little more purple pop when opened.

There is a definite difference to how this looks when I change the settings on my monitor to emulate my old CRT rather than use the full brightness of the LCD. Even then, it still looks a little over the top to me, but I like where you ar going with the glow on the bark. Having fun with that new CS2 version, aren't ya? :)

I like this version without the planes much better. You might try playing around with Shadow/Midtone/Highlight layer if you want to add some extra contrast without blowing any highlights.
