The looks are indeed similar. I really like the light, the shadows and how both eyes are visible. The arm and hand add an extra element of interest and diagonal, but the hand seems to be floating, it does not support the head. Probably if it was held a bit closer to the face and the thumb would not be visible, it would feel more natural.

It is pin sharp, colours are great but still it does not wow me. The position and the legs create an impression as if the animal is dead and balancing across the leaf. (it might not be, but still)
