Certainly has potential, with some more dramatic lighting, some less sky this could be great. Now it is a nice picture, of a beautiful landscape, but a bit dull in my opinion.

Very nice houses and nice light, showing good structure. I wish it was taken a bit more from the front. The houses are the main subject of the picture, byt the eye is lead away from the houses to the opening at the back, where the path goes in between the houses. You could still have use the path as a compositional element, but less dominating than it is now.

Silhouette ? Update after your P.M. : yes, agree, you have some dark shadow area's without details/color (the head and part of the wing), but still my opinion is that this is far from a silhouette. The duck is mostly well lit in my opinion. Nevertheless a very good catch, tack sharp and nice blurred background.

Most pictures are especially appealing because of a simple and strong composition or subject, something which catches the eye, and this is especially true for silhouettes, in my opinion. Yours has nothing like it, too much going on, nothing to catch the eye, uninteresting to me.
