| 02/03/2006 10:22:38 PM | Winter Buffaloby handeguyComment: 3 - Looks like good potential. Criticism; needs to be bigger (640 width in this case). Difficult to discern the clarity and sharpness focal wise, but looks like it may need to be sharper. Compositionally, I think if this were more off-centered, or even a vertical framing perhaps, make this better in my opinion. |
| 02/03/2006 10:20:57 PM | Night Eyesby scalvertComment: 6 - Your call obviously on the b&w/toning, works well, especially with the feather patterns. Criticism; difficult due to the processing and grain involved, just like to see the eyes a bit sharper/dominant. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/03/2006 10:18:10 PM | Crunch Timeby owenComment: 7 - Wow, good close up and perspective. The bird looks huge. Criticism; difficult with the 'opportunity shot', but just a bit more detail in the feathers, perhaps just a 'fraction' more zoom out, just seems a bit too close focus wise, but hard to discern and if the 'blown' parts were 'fixed', make this even better in my opinion. Maybe also a selective desaturation to 'enhance' the illusion of the bird, somehow, not sure. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/03/2006 10:14:43 PM | Blindsby senojComment: 2 - For a shot like this to work, it has to have something interesting behind it, be it a pattern, shape or object, etc in my opinion. Also, either perfect symmetry or 'offset' of the blinds would have helped this. The lighting coming through also dominates this in my opinion. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/03/2006 10:11:37 PM | Sunrise in Winterby blue296Comment: 2 - Difficult to discern the potential in this. Criticism; needs to be bigger (640 width in this case), looks also like pixelation issues. There are PS tutorials for resizing under the DPC Help menu otherwise experiment with your software to try to perfect this. |
| 02/03/2006 08:25:45 PM | 'trust'by suemackComment: 7 - Nice capture. The grain and toning work well here in my opinion. Criticism; difficult, maybe a fraction more space (if you had it, obviously) under the tail, the shirt folds detract, but fairly minor, maybe a slight softening/blurring of the background to help the 'trusting one' pop a little more, not sure. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/03/2006 08:22:07 PM | Below the Cloudsby nathankComment: 6 - Nice capture, silhouette(s) composition and choice of vertical framing. Criticism; apart from the crooked horizon, perhaps a fraction wider, especially for 'here', may have given this just a little more in my opinion, but not sure as, works well as is. |
| 02/03/2006 08:19:26 PM | Our Fatherby Man_Called_HorseComment: 7 - This shot opens itself up to a variety of interpretations on what this is about/story it tells, in my opinion. Good and unusual capture. The gold, especially the candleholders in the background, add a good element. Criticism; not much, perhaps emphasizing that 'gold' (including the cross) 'somehow', a little sharper as well, not sure about the reflection on the temple/head, because that could add to 'stories' too. Perhaps a more refined cropping and as just mentioned, trying to gain a fraction more 'depth' and 'drama' overall in this shot, may have made this even better in my opinion. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 02/03/2006 08:11:16 PM | Eye on Youby bryanbrazilComment: 6 - Nice vibrant colors. Good capture. Criticism; apologies in advance if wrong, but looks like either neat-imaged or other pp, causing a plastic type appearance and resulting in loss of detail, especially in the feathers etc. Difficult to discern if it is focal issues or not. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
