New Steet Gangby jadkpicsComment: 7 - Oh, good. Like the sharp perspective. They do seem to pop, especially the black legs/feet and bills/beaks.. the crowns look, slightly odd, but could be natural, or pp (apologies in advance if wrong). 640 would have helped this, in my opinion. Not sure on the frame. |

Abstractby MarjoComment: I gave this a 6. Really liked it, but for this Challenge, wasn't abstract 'enough' for me. Instantly identifiable plumage - very nice. Also, difficult for abstracts, but more definition in the feathers (and given what I said above), perhaps a tighter crop (quality dependent of course) may have made this even better in my opinion. Tweaking of the colors too, but likely difficult. |

The First Crocusby tedwardComment: 3 - Better focus and a more finely tuned crop and more balanced composition, make this better in my opinion. Given you've photographed something white, over-exposure is easy to do, which seems one of the main problems here. |

In the Shade of a Giantby mpetersComment: 4 - Looks like good potential, especially with the varying strong colors (red bark, blue flowers). Perhaps a slightly sharper angle, more space to the sapling(?) and it highlighted/showcased more, for the Challenge, may have made this better in my opinion. The lighting looks nice, and fairly well 'placed', but overall there are exposure issues, in my opinion. Not sure on the frame. |

Daffodilby MayaMComment: Like the scene and colors, control of the whites looks fairly good. The processing (looks selective too(?)) not 'adding' here in my opinion, but your call, obviously. |

Half Asleepby yankoComment: Good capture. Perhaps a tweaking of the colors (seems a fraction dark) may have made this even better in my opinion, although likely a lot of resulting contrast issues. Having said that, you may have deliberately applied this 'processing'. A crop variation too (depending what you had of course), just like to see that 'half asleep' capture accentuated 'somehow'. |

New Lifeby bryanbrazilComment: 6 - Nice capture. 'Cute'. Composition is good, but I wonder if a fraction less at the bottom, not sure. Difficult, but an even sharper angle/perspective would have been good too, but then you wouldn't have been able to capture the good water ripples/textures as you have. Also difficult, but even more clarity/definition in the 'new life' too, make this even better in my opinion. |

How did I get here?by MacDonaldComment: 'Technically' (again, am no 'expert'), the toning works well, composition is quite good, but perhaps a little sharper angle/perspective (difficult with candids) may have added a little extra to this. A more refined crop likely also have helped. edit:removed TN and condensedMessage edited by author 2006-04-20 06:09:36. |

Eerie Reflectionby MacDonaldComment: I gave this a 5. Thought it was a fairly good capture of a difficult shot to get. To be honest, as with some of the other shots, I didn't pay as much attention to the title (as I likely should have), hence didn't 'notice' the 'eerie reflection'. Does look a little like a 'startled' Mona Lisa. |
