squirrel1.jpgby Noel_ZHComment: Good capture. If the quality is there, a much tighter crop might make this much stronger - but the blown area might come too much into play, not sure. |

chilling.jpgby Noel_ZHComment: Wow. Very dreamy. Beautiful colors. Even though the focus on the head is softer, still works well, especially overall. Very nice. |

Oct-6-itsy-bitsy.jpgby JerseyGenieComment: Well. One of my favorite subjects. Very nice image. The elements which make this image unique (the oof / bokeh web and the 'something' bottom left) also detract slightly (although they're growing on me) - and that is mainly because of the size of this image. I really do wish I could see it larger, having said that, this image 'wall sized', would likely take on a different 'personality'. On further study, I am becoming more undecided on the bottom left area as it dominates too much with those beautiful 'gems'. I really like the pattern created and 'overlayed' with the oof strands. If you hold your hand up to the screen to block out that left, 'cropping' the image near vertically, it (again) takes on a different form. A stronger one, in my opinion. Or rather, appeals to my taste more. This is, after all, just my opinion/thoughts on the image. That colored bokeh background really sets that off as well. I really like the 'draping' and vertical effect of the strands. Nice and sharp in those areas (good use of the tripod). Very nice image. Thanks. |

Molly, the Whippet Pup, Enjoys a (Big End of) Pendle Hill Sunset.by TacTZillaComment: Nice simple yet interesting image. Like the colors, composition, framing and crop. Even without the movement in the sky, still be a good image. Make a nice 'wall sized' piece of 'art'. Parts of the red (sun) seems to be bordering on overcontrast/blown/something, but minor. The coloring masks it well anyway. Good meet of the Challenge. I didn't vote, but hypothetically likely would have given this an 8 or 9. |

IMG_5160web.jpgby MarjoComment: Bullies.
Nice capture. Looks like it needs a whisker (no pun intended) nudge up on the right. |

Four of Sevenby cginoComment: Guess you saw I added this as a Favorite. I think this is a wonderful shot, couldn't have posed them better. Beats a studio shot too. The fact this is outdoors and they're 'wild', is also a plus. You must have had a field day when all these kittens were around. The lighting is very nice. The simple foreground and background add to this too. Little Tiger aside, your timing (or attention gaining tricks?) to get them all looking at the camera, makes the shot. |

Fifteen Funny Facesby cginoComment: Nice little collection. A bit 'busy' overall (perhaps mainly due to the backgrounds in each, not sure), but that also makes it interesting to look at. Make a good poster. Do wonder about variations, eg; black and white, etc - but I think you might lose a bit of the 'character(s)', especially where the color of the eyes plays a role. I think the one on the left in the middle would have to be the best (for my taste), followed closely by the last one, bottom right. |
