Paper lamp

A beautiful, moment in time photo. the lamp is interesting, while the details take this image to another level. The lighting and composition speak strongly of purpose and skill. The small imperfections add together to creat a moment in time feeling. I especially love the water splash on the window. Taken with the "clutter" on the table the image moves out of ordinary and into a peak into a serene life.

the composition is strong, but other items take it out of strength for me. The bright blue spot, the strong shadows, the fight for visual attention that is going on with the lettering, over saturated blues, the lettering behind the fence, the large black post and the sack on the bench.

A beautiful, abstract take on this challenge. The lighting and colors really work for you here. You've taken it from a traditional photo to near painting, which may work for you, but probably will work against you at DPC. I love it. It really works for me.

Natural Shredded...

Interesting concept. A different setup may have taken you further.

Graters usually leave a very identifiable pile shape. Using that shape and perhaps having the grater above the shredded paper may have given you better mileage.

Nicely created plane, and the capture during flight works. The dof and bg don't add to this shot, just leave it as ordinary.

The Paper Face

I'm caught between the sharp, graphic nature of the shot, and the items that make this shot not work for me.

The colors, framing within the picture and sharp focus work well for you. The match of bg color with many post it notes works well.

The details, including the mismatch of color between shirt and bg, the unshaved neck, strange lighting (funny shadows), pink border and the tape around the head leave me cold.

It's obvious you have talent, but this shot didn't work for me very well.

Creative and well shot. Some small details- the paper doesn't quite match the profile of the apple. The dof doesn't quite feel right with the front of the apple oof. Overall nice with a great 1st impression.
