a great moment you've captured but I would say 1) too pixelated, 2) barely any pan and 3) too zoomed out for an action shot of this sort... and I know its a pain I can only go to 200mm myself! I think if this were cropped into just the bird and the reflection it would be a standout shot, even if the bird is facing outwards

i actually think its a cool, well composed shot, not worthy of a 5.0, but I can see why it didn't 'kill'... for one, I think the cool colors of the majority of the image (in the shade) contrast too much with the warm colors of the direct sunlight in the background... and aside from the the warmth/coolness factor, the brightness is also slightly unsettling. But the biggest thing i would say is the lack of 'critical' focus on the subject... motion panning is an all or nothing gig, if you're not 100% in focus on PART of the image, people will fault you for it... here, the head & face are a bit shaky and that will hurt you. Don't think it deserved as low as it did but those are my 2 cents
