Not tonight dear -- I have a headacheby ErikVComment: Wonder if this is who I think it is. Guess I'll know tomorrow...
Very cute take on the subject. Would have liked at but more depth of field, and maybe a little different lighting to get rid of the shadow under "his arm". But still a very good photo, and a nice change from kids in jammies. |

Kindred Spirits by tateComment: Congratulations on the blue ribbon.
Very well deserved, what a great shot. I like that you didn't try to take it down to the bottom of the glass. Makes it look like it is just starting. Very ephemeral effect. Your fellow "Greeks" are very proud of you. |

Original - Ordinary Powerlines On An Extraordinary Eveningby togtogComment: Very nice lightning capture. I like the way it appears to be reaching out from behind the tree.
The detail on the smaller filaments is great. Nice dynamic range, without a lot of manipulation.
Although I find the one with the wires interesting in its own right, I like this one a bit better, and it's a shame you weren't allowed to edit the wires out.
Very nice work. |

Peek a Boo!by LiamD2005Comment: As the others have already noted, the weak point of the image is that the dog is facing away from the camera. Kinda like a crowd shot with only the backs of people's heads.
I like very much that you were able to keep the detail in the black fur of the dog. Too many times they come out like black blobs.
The rest of the picture I would have liked a little bit brighter. Not a whole lot brighter, just a bit.
For the pixellation, try resizing in steps. The newer software is better at it, but still has it's limits. By knocking it down and 10% or so, at a time, the software does not have to work as hard. Not sure of all the mechanics of why, but it can help where you are having problems. |

Come with me ...by thepesterComment: Looks more like a love story between a human and an immortal. A little bright in the upper left background, and a little centered. But love the clouds the pose and the costumes. |

Death Gripby GraciousComment: Interesting photo, but I don't see what is supposed to be immovable. Everything here looks like it can be moved pretty easily. |

Overby BrinComment: Critique Club Review:
Brightness and Contrast: Image is mildly over exposed, which is part of the challenge. I think perhaps it could be taken up a bit more with an increase in the contrast. I'd like to see the rocks a little lighter, a little brighter, but would still want the figure dark the way it is now.
Focus and depth of field: Focus is nice and sharp. Depth of field is great.
There is really not much more you can do with this image. What makes the image is all the detail in the rocks, and the sky. If you brightened all that much more, the detail would be lost, and the final result would be less than you have now.
I see what looks like a small island beyond the subject. Perhaps that against a bright sea and bright sky, would have worked better for an overexposed challenge.
This is an excellent image, just one that has a harder time carrying the theme of the challenge. |
