From Simpler Timesby spiritualspatulaComment: I like the angle of the photo here. Very refreshing, as opposed to the normal eye level images we often see. Color saturations is very good. Border is a little heavy and distracts a little bit. You might see a few lower votes because of this. Focus and depth of field is great! Would be nice if something was going on in the sky, but we can't control the weather. Image looks a tiny bit over processed. Fringing and artifacts along the top edge of the tractor, around the steering wheel, and at the edge of the rear tire, distract somewhat. However, still a very good photo. I could see this in a gallery or on the wall in a restaurant in the mid-west. Nice job! |

The Gathering by karenkComment: Congratulations on a well deserved blue ribbon.
I really like the way you used a shallow depth of field to single out the one bird. Make him/her look like the spokes person for the group. And although I guess birds don't really get expressions, the coloring and camera angle are perfect for a ver humerous "expression". |

Not tonight dear -- I have a headacheby ErikVComment: Wonder if this is who I think it is. Guess I'll know tomorrow...
Very cute take on the subject. Would have liked at but more depth of field, and maybe a little different lighting to get rid of the shadow under "his arm". But still a very good photo, and a nice change from kids in jammies. |

Kindred Spirits by tateComment: Congratulations on the blue ribbon.
Very well deserved, what a great shot. I like that you didn't try to take it down to the bottom of the glass. Makes it look like it is just starting. Very ephemeral effect. Your fellow "Greeks" are very proud of you. |

Original - Ordinary Powerlines On An Extraordinary Eveningby togtogComment: Very nice lightning capture. I like the way it appears to be reaching out from behind the tree.
The detail on the smaller filaments is great. Nice dynamic range, without a lot of manipulation.
Although I find the one with the wires interesting in its own right, I like this one a bit better, and it's a shame you weren't allowed to edit the wires out.
Very nice work. |

Peek a Boo!by LiamD2005Comment: As the others have already noted, the weak point of the image is that the dog is facing away from the camera. Kinda like a crowd shot with only the backs of people's heads.
I like very much that you were able to keep the detail in the black fur of the dog. Too many times they come out like black blobs.
The rest of the picture I would have liked a little bit brighter. Not a whole lot brighter, just a bit.
For the pixellation, try resizing in steps. The newer software is better at it, but still has it's limits. By knocking it down and 10% or so, at a time, the software does not have to work as hard. Not sure of all the mechanics of why, but it can help where you are having problems. |

Come with me ...by thepesterComment: Looks more like a love story between a human and an immortal. A little bright in the upper left background, and a little centered. But love the clouds the pose and the costumes. |
