I like this picture. However, there are several elements competing for attention. The fence leads you to the couple, but then wants to lead you on to the tunnel. The couple points out of the picture at an unseen object of interest. The mountain ridge in the background competes with the rest of the picture. None of this is fatal, but is there to see. From the shadows, it appears that the picture was taken around mid-day, which tends to make landscapes look flat. The haze in the valley works to give depth, (other wise the tunnel and the background would run together), but were the picture taken early in the day or late in the afternoon, you could have filtered out the haze and gotten a good idea of depth.

Lighting is good, contrast is very good (you can see the details in all the light and dark areas, nothing is hidden or blown out.) Focus is good, cropping is excellent. With a bit of a different pose of the couple, and no haze, I could see this as a postcard for the area.

Very good photo. The partial hand, on the right side, is a bit distracting. However, everything else works quite well. Composition, color, lighting are good. The expressions really work well. 8

Would have liked this cropped tighter (head only) or looser (showing some space above the top of the dog's head.) Good exposure, good detail, good depth of field. 6

It takes a moment to fully appreciate the depth of this picture. Very well lit, very good exposure, perhaps a bit more detail above the closest arch would have been nice. Other than that, a very enjoyable shot. 9

Seems somewhat too dark. Good contrast, depth of field, and composition. Fits the challenge. 7

About the only drawback here, is that the fire is washed out to white. Other than that, a very creative and good picture. 8

Nice colorful home. Cutting it off like you did, tends to lead the eye out of the page. Meets the challenge, but would have been nice to have something say Alabama other than the title. Good exposure, nice and sharp. 5
