I like this shot. I think it would be more powerful if the table post was offset more to the left or right. Good contrast of color, one little hot spot on the left shoe but a creative approach to this challenge.

Edit: Okay after re-reading my original comment it was rude and I'd rather do this publicly than over PM'ing.

My comment was rude and uncalled for and I apologize for that. This shot is in no way a bad shot at all. The DOF is right on, it is a clean and beautifully done study in b/w (as is all of your work) and for a picture of a pet very intimate and beautiful. The only real flaw in this shot that I can see is some of the whiskers on the right hand side are a tad out of focus but I'm sure your model was doing his/her best to stay still. ;)

I hope you can accept my apology and good luck with this challenge. Oh, and for a cat picture it's the most kick ass one in this challenge. ;)

Not very original and not to be rude but this subject (cats/dogs) is, IMHO being totally over done as of late.

With that said, the shot is clean and meets the challenge. I like the b/w conversion. 4
