Sanyang by MAKComment: Love the lighting and subject. I may have opted for a different crop. 8 |

itsy bitsyby jgirl57Comment: Whoa - I gave this a 6 and I thought it was cool and artsy. Must be some voters that really dislike spiders - probably the best brown ribbon image I've ever seen =D |

Seeing The Lightby bennettjamieComment: The image is well done and many voters seemed to find it better than average (mostly 6). As for a portrait, it is sharp and well-lt. I am left wondering what it would look like with more commitment on the emotion (is she sorrowful, happy, pensive, it is hard to tell) - and what it would look like with no teeth showing and a more expressive emotion.
Score-wise I would say it did pretty well for a standard portrait that isn't really telling any sort of story. |

everything will turn out alrightby jmritzComment: As aliens look at this years from now, they will assume there were humans with 4 legs and larger, elongated heads. I dislike the fact that the car appears in such clear focus but I assume cloning it out would be against the Advanced Edit rules LOL 6 |

Cow in fieldby P-A-U-LComment: Better than a factory farm, that is for sure. I like the documentary nature of this as well as the touch of artistic coloring. The lack of extra subject/context is a blessing but also keeps is from being exceptional. |

car with only the buttocksby MonaComment: To make a trek to shoot this without the fence in the way might have paid off. Quite a vexing object and sign. |

Mollyby NeatComment: I want to turn the chair in the foreground to a more welcoming position. I also want to removed the flowers or whatever form around MOlly's nose. OTher than that, one of my faves of the challenge. The light, color, composition and environment are really nice -I just feel a bit too detached from it. |

Dismal by P-A-U-LComment: As far as interpreting this piece as an artwork at Dismaland, I'm sure there could be many opinions.
To me, it is reminiscent of the haunted house ride at Disney, where you see yourself in mirrors sitting next to ghosts - but instead of moving through a ride, here you sit - likely unconcerned for the humorous yet horrific event right nearby. Possibly a metaphor for how we tend to separate ourselves from that which we don't want to see. This seems to be set up as a photo studio of sorts; truly an impressive interpretive piece that allows for immediate interaction from the visitors.
Congrats on the ribbon and accolades. |
