Looking at this for the third time now I know what it is that bothers me - it looks way oversharpened in sme parts and left alone in others. The detail looks applied rather than shot.

I think I would have appreciated this more without the people. It is a very interesting photo for sure. In some context I am sure the people would be ok. But they just distract me from getting lost in the view of the image. I am constantly drawn to them and not the creative perspective.

The blood is obviously ketchup - hurts the image. The lightning may be ok, but the city lights on the right remove it from your context. To be more correct, your 'nail' should not be pointing down as you would slip off - one of those technical things. At first look I thought distasteful to be honest. At second and third look, the same. It boiled down to the technicals on this one.
