Yahtzeeby whiterookComment: Hi Whiterook, you really need to try harder and not just enter something for the sake of it. Before entering a shot, do you ask yourself "Is this the best I can do for this challenge? Does it inspire? Do I feel that I have captured the essence of the scene?"
Or do you just blindly click the button and hope for the best?
Seriously, you need to take more time when thinking about entering a shot. Lots of people on this site will willingly offer you guidance. However, if you are just shooting for the hell of it the go for it dude!! |

Tractors at Restby Mr_PantsComment: Great use of HDR, only thing that spoils it for me is maybe a tad too much saturation? Still, great study in HDR, hope they run another challenge soon. |

Wind power ready for the stormby kevip6Comment: My mum used to be secretary of the "Friends of Mountessing Windmill Association".
I was going to enter a shot of this windmill in the August freestudy, you can check out the image in my portfolio.
This is a great shot, as mentioned by Larus the blown highlights to the right only mildly detract. Would of liked to of seen this score a bit better.
Nice work Kev!

Ancient Callingby MatthewComment: Stonehenge is a landmark I have always wanted to shoot, I have driven past it so many times but never taken the time to stop and shoot it. I think the reason why is because I have seen so many shots of stonehenge that I feel its a bit tricky trying to get a new angle on it. I like this shot as it is ore unique than most of the other si have seen. I am not sure if I like the cloud or not, jury is still out on that one for me. The slight sloping graident is nice though. And your BW conversion is first class. The voters seemed to like it.
Subnote. Wouldnt it be great to get access to it outside of tourist hours.. maybe at night, or during an electrical storm. That would be so cool. Do they do `photograhy tours` where you can pay a bit more to get that kind of access? I might look into it.

High-G Kissby MatthewComment: fantastic, the noise gives it a grittier feel (which in my book works for this shot, makes it more `urgent`). IMHO should of scored/placed higher. |
