Prairie Boundby SonifoComment: This is a beautiful shot. The lighting is perfect and so is the focusl. I love the clouds in the backgound. You were very lucky. The colors are brilliant. If possible, it might have been nice to get up a little closer to the horse and be on the same level as he. |

K-9 in Autumnby bluefalcon245Comment: Very cute puppy...looks like an American Eskimo. This would make a nice snapshot for your family photo album. Just a pointer that I learned a long time ago when taking pictures of my animals...get down to their level and as close as you can. That way, you can fill most of the picture with your subject (in this case the dog) and won't have to crop too much in post processing, especially if your camera doesn't have very high resolution. I might have taken the dog out in the sunshine where there is more light and placed her in front of the tree, using the trunk as the background. Might try it and see how it goes. |

Sincerity in Bark and Whiteby frd91gtComment: This is a very nice photo of your dog. He's a cutie... that's for sure. He looks very happy. You have him well focused and framed nicely in the picture. The lighting is perfect and even. As far as the challenge goes, I define fauna as more than the family pet. I'm afraid because of that, it will not do as well as it should. |

Springtimeby RemieComment: I just love the expression on this little guy's face. The lighting seems a bit harsh. Too bad there couldn't have been a few clouds in the sky when you took this picture. |

Owinby mar3148Comment: Very sweet photo of your dog. His white coat and the black background contrast well. Subject is well focused and lighting is appropriate. You might have cropped the picture just a little too tight by cutting off the top of his head and part of his ear. As far as the challenge goes, however, I define fauna as more than the family pet. |

Aerial Combatby zeuszenComment: Very nice action shot. I looks like they are having a lot of fun. The lake and the hills make a nice background. Although it appears to be an overcast day, the picture as a whole is a little on the dark side. Perhaps just a little adjustment in post-processing would brighten it up a little. As far as the challenge goes, I define fauna as being more than the domesticated family pet. |

Cows in Renoby smfsnowindComment: I like the clouds, the mountains and the cityscape in the background. However, the cows seem a little too far away. Since the challenge is fauna, I think that the focus should have primarily been them, in my opinion. In this case, if you would have been able to get a little closer to them, it would have been better. The lighting is a little dark and the cows are blurry. |

Goose Chaseby QuadrajetComment: Nice action photo. Good capture with the water splash. Well focused and lighting is perfect. You have also framed this goose in the picture nicely. Good luck in the challenge. You should do real well. |

Pretty Lady by JeanComment: With the plain black background, this just doesn't look natural to me. Is she a live bird or stuffed? Other than that observation, this is a nicely taken photo. Shows great detail and color. |

Hey, look at me!by RefractedComment: Very nice. Great DOF. I feel as if he could reach out of the picture and peck at me. I like the colors in the background. It complements the subject well. I love the expression on his face...like an old man gnawing on a toothpick after dinner. Good luck in the challenge. You should do real well. |
