Ode to Trent Reznorby tfarrell23Comment: I really like your shallow depth of field, composition, subject matter, and crystal clear focus where the focus belongs. I have been fairly critical in the challenge thus far for images using nine objects without all the objects in focus, but this one works very well. I dare say it, but I will be surprised if this one doesn't ribbon. Though, DPC seems to surprise me with nonsense almost every single day. Great capture and good luck with the voters. A solid 9 from me. |

Naukuhby PhotologistComment: Interesting silhouette. Great, transitioning and complimenting complementing colors in your sunset. I think that I'd like to see it even a bit more offset in the crop. 5. |

Girls prefer nine best friendsby mbish7373Comment: I like the idea, bu the execution seems to be a bit lacking. The shallow depth of field works well for the image, but the muted colors detract from the pop and sparkle that the image should/could have. Your border also takes away from the overall quality of the presentation. I like a clean, thick, white border with a small, 1-2 px back line separating the image from the white border. That's all a matter of personal preference, but a clean look would have served this one much better. I like the square, centered composition. It plays nicely with the symmetry of the subject. I am going to go 5 here, but there is tons of room to grow this vote. |

Nineby davidwComment: Great idea and a nicely seen macro, but this one is way too dark. 5. |

Into the black holeby BudyaComment: Creative, interesting, and well composed. Not normally one of my favorite types of images, but this one is nice. Good choice of cool tones as well. 6. |

Nine Birdhousesby sfmorrisComment: I think the business in the frame provides too many distractions to for the photo. I do think that you fall well within the spirit of the challenge, but it feels like more of a snapshot that a planned image. Not a shoehorn by any means, but still in need of better composition and execution. 5. |

Goldenby gg3rdComment: You have a potentially interesting subject, but your angled point of view and the awkward crop really prevent this one from the hopes of a strong score. I don't know how I would try to shoot this entire piece, thus I would probably focus on detail work. I know that isn't helpful being that he challenge was nine, but without just shooting this one straight on and centered I fear is would just look awkward. 4. |

Nine Petals Leftby peterComment: I am about 30% of the way through voting on the images for this challenge, but I am already sure that this one will ribbon. I imagine that you are sitting on a score somewhere in the 6.75 range right now. Great colors and wonderful creativity. I am seeing some pixelation with some of the petals, but I don't think that it will be enough to significantly detract from your score. From me, a 7. |
