WHile this is an interesting subject and a different take on the challenge, I think this could be made more interesting (and perhaps a little less visually distracting in the background) by shooting from a slightly different angle.

The focus is very odd in this shot. Bits seem to be out of focus, and other adjacent bits which should be in focus are not. Also, there seesm to be some halos around parts of the image - the right knee and thigh, the left shoulder, a couple of other spots. The composition is interesting, and I think it would be more so if the focus issues were not there.

This reminds me of what could be something out of an Off-Off-Broadway play, but in a good way. It has a very "on stage" feel to it. Very interesting.

Always in Fashion

Not sure that I get what exactly is 'always in fashion'... the vest and shirt? Peavey sound systems? Bald guys with weird expressions? There's quite a bit going on in this pic, and while it is optically in focus, conceptually it is a little scattered. So I have to ask, what's the point? Not as a rhetorical question, but seriously. Where should my attention be drawn when I initially look at this? If it's the guy, how could he be isolated more from the background to make him the prominent subject? If it's the clothes, how could that be shown? If it's the amps, again, how could they be better showcased?

Good lighting, nice color. The pose is good till you get to the face. I would rather see him looking slightly toward the floor and smiling, or looking straight at the camera with a 'I'm sexy and I know it' look. The quizzical look he has on his face just kind of mucks up the 'feel' of this as a 'fashion photo'.

I have to be brutally honest here. This looks like a shot you'd get back on a roll of film from a camera that was passed around at a frat party after all the girls had left and the beer was gone and there wasn't anything else to do. The lighting is harsh, the composition just does not work, and the focus seems off.
