Key in the Ignitionby cweedComment: Meets challenge quite well. Focus is good. Without knowing what you had to work with, I'm not sure if composition could have been stronger. |

Anasazi Mano Y Metate (Stone-Age Grinder)by rox_roxComment: I like the balance of black space around the stone image. It definitely depicts what appears to be a stone thrusting out of the past. Better focus would have really made this image pop. |

a symbol of the past down belowby focus57Comment: Way too out of focus. Maybe a spot reading would have helped to clear up the lack of clearness. I do like the optical illusion of this image appearing to be a giant with a lilliputian size landscape behind it. |

This Old Clockby northrop4Comment: It is like looking back in time. Nice b&w. Using a square crop makes it look even more dated, and the chipping of the paint adds to the overall idea of obsolete. I give it an 8 |

Rotaryby eadgbe75Comment: Nice close-up. I like the curve of the highlight over towards the bottom left. Nice compositionally, also. Attention to detail shows on this one. Very strong photographically, but subject of obsolete isn't strong. Many people still use rotary phones. |

Razor Sharp by carlosComment: Great use of low light in this one. Nicely detailed with no grain. Even liked the border. |

Shelf Candyby thomaspeopleComment: Your framing of the book and camera in the cube was wonderful. It gave it a natural border without looking forced. The color of the books your chose made for a nice composition. The camera is secondary in this image. You could have almost done without it. |

Opium pot , Qing Dynastyby MambeComment: Loved the detail of the metal on the pot. The background distracts from the main subject. I know it mimics part of the design on the pot, but a more monochrmatic background would have enhanced the pot. |

Oval Rimby eschmuttComment: Out of balance. The image is not completeing itself. Would have liked to see the upper part of the rim in the picture. My favorite part of the picture is actually the way the lower left curl of the rim came out. The color and shadow draw the eye to it. |
