It is very out of focus. Your composition is great, though. You have leading lines in front of the child following her to the forest. A higher shutter might have given this a more clean edge.

I think something was lost in converting it to black and white. Image appears very grainy, though that could be from the rain falling. It was a difficult lighting to capture a really contrasty image.

Didnt think the image was aesthetically pleasing. Good contrast in the umbrella, though.

How come there are no leaves on the trees? Do you have serious problems with gypsy moth caterpillars? Anyway, thought the shot was not all that interesting.

This was so cute. Closer cropping may make the image better, or maybe not. The shadow is very strong on the little one. Is there any way you can maybe lighten that part of the image to give it more detail and less harsh contrast?

This one looks a little dark. When was it taken? I like the strong surf in this one. The most interesting part of the photo for me is really the lower 1/2 of the picture. By focusing on one aspect of the surf, either the wave or the water pulling back out to the ocean, you might get a more concentrated and simplified photo.

Wow, you got no comments on this one. I don't think I've seen any challenge entries yet with 0 comments. Anyway, I love the interesting colors of this one. If you had cropped out the foreground, I would almost think it was a topographical image of a mountain. I voted it a 7 during the challenge, probably because I thought it didn't depict granular all that much. Still, the photo is definitely very cool.

Very nice contrast. The wing of the bird, though seems to be joining the background too much. Do you have the ability in your editing to lighten up either the wing or the background, just on that one spot, though? I also would like to see a closer cropping. By the way, I love black and white. I am posting one of cows on my portfolio. I decided I don't want to enter dairy after all.

Of all the images, I like this one best. It has a personality to it. When shooting cat pictures, they work best when the cat is being a cat. I have several shots of my kitties too. I did not know cats were taboo. Why is that? Could explain why no body seems interested in looking at my pics. Anyway, many of the portrait styles you have done need something more. Maybe a different background, or a toy, or a feather. Give them a bit more interest and I think they really will come alive. By the way, on your high something or other crop, because the cat is light with light eyes, I don't think that style really works for Tungsten. Hope this helps you, and I hope I didn't piss you off or anything.
