Liked the composition except for the tree in the foreground. It seems to upset the balance of this shot. I know you can't remove the tree so I won't mark down dramatically. The cliffs are wonderfully textured and colorful and the cactus forms a nice framing.

As a sunset shot, the colors are marvelous, but the tree in the corner is placed wrong. I have found with sunset shots that if the sky is not really dramatic, something else needs to be placed for the eye to look at. The tree is too far to the right to peak proper interest.

Stacked Up

For some reason I really like this one. It creates a swirl pattern when you look at the rocks, which only happens because of the top one. Your eye just naturally flows downward. This illusion could really be used to your advantage by using the stones as a beginning to lead the eye to another subject. Shadows may be a little strong on the bottom but otherwise a very pleasing composition. 8

You should have entered. This is a wonderful abstract. The only thing you need to do is to adjust the noise. It was a bit grainy which would not have set well with the voters. Otherwise, fabulous colors and the shapes of the refraction are really nice.
