Self Portrait using new lights

Well lit, but seems too flat. What kind of lights did you get, and how did you set them up? Perhaps it is the background that really flattens it out. Can you place a hanky over one of the lights to kind of diffuse it to give more depth to the image? It is a trick I learned with portraits. I also use mirror lighting a lot. The light gets aimed at the mirror which is in front of the subject, then the light bounces back at the person, but without a lot of harshness. Just some suggestions. I have several wonderful books on portraiture, including basic set ups. E mail me if you want a few ideas, then I can photograph the pages and send them to you.

Stairs

Stairs

The image does have potential. Perhaps a bit mor saturation and contrast would give it a bit more zip. You may have too much detail, as well. Perhaps cropping out much of the foreground, and focusing more on the twist of the stairs near the top. You could easily clone out the foreground branch which kind of arches over the stairs and would be too noticable with a tighter crop.

Lovely image. Very contemporary art feel to it. Love the way the lines form patterns leading to the horizon.

Too cute. This is hilarious. But did you wreck that expensive compact flash disk on the left? Or was it done in anyway? I don't know why, photographically there are a few issues, but the entire image and its creativity have grabbed my eye, and I love the kooky eyes. 10

Beautiful composition and lighting. Nice detail. A bit too much brightness on the intersection above the spoon, but overall you did a great job.

Need to be clearer and color seems off, maybe too much orange. Also, the heavy shadows cover up the depth of detail this image could have had.

Needs better focus so you could see the tension of the honey under the flies. Also detail on flies is very matte. A bit more shine would have been better.

Looks extremely unappetizing. What are the black things? Overall, not a pleasing composition.
