Day 4 - Pilkington's Glassby SweetlittlepixieComment: Love the black and white. You created a wonderful image from something very ordinary and uninteresting. It must be the stark nature of the chimneys that make the image better than average. |

Church Day 4by KatmystiryComment: Nice use of dusk. Just enough light from the church to draw the eye into the photo. |

men in trees.jpgby yetiComment: Nice try at an interesting subject. I think you need to get a little closer, though, to really get strong details. The blue sky, though, is really amazing. Really grabs your attention. |

Day 2 SEE ROCK CITY Signsby TCGuruComment: I love to see unique qualities of your area. The image has a nice focal point with the red birdhouse. I think a bit taken off the top would make the image even stronger. Like the tree it rests against, too. Would like to see more of that part of the photo, but that is my own opinion. |

Day 2 - My Houseby SweetlittlepixieComment: Great tones and colors. You might need to straighten the composition a little. It is hard to decide where to straighten because your lens distorted the image a bit, making it hard to get nice straight lines. I would start with the roof first, then see how the rest of the image is affected, then go from there. |

Day 2by renegade1966Comment: Nice way to get a good composition to hide an obstruction. Anyway, the church is a very good subject. I am not good with architectural shots so can't give you many hints. I would recommend trying to see if Bear_Music can give you some tips on getting better building shots. That was the kind of photographer he used to be.
My opinion, composition is really good, but a bit more contrast in your highlights and shadows would give the image a bit of snap. Also, if you have a dodge function on your editing, you might try to dodge a bit of the front to make better detail on the doors . |

Day 2 - Pigeon Houseby Bruce_the_RobertComment: Okay, you may have oversharpened the image a bit. Makes it appear a little rough. I notice you used a zoom lens. You may have needed a slightly longer shutter, like maybe 1/400th or so. The iso could also be adjusted to perhaps 400 which would make the image a bit clearer. I like the sky, but would like a bit less cyan. Anyway, the composition is done well. However, the pigeons do seem a bit lacking in detail. I too am working considerably with a zoom lens about the same as yours, and it is definitely a test of will to get really great images with the zoom. Maybe you and me can just stick to that one lens and see about improving our abilities as we learn what works best for our zooms. |
