The essence of a cat walking off... To me, the blur heightens the "swish" element. I don't think this would work as well in sharp focus. It looks as if there's enough going on with the baseboard and the floor (extraneous lines and marks) that we would be distracted from that oh-so-fluffy tail.

I liked this last year, and I like it even more now. I think it has to do with the placement of the figures, which stand out very strongly against the background, and the fact that they aren't just standing there -- their bodies are in interesting positions. Hope that makes sense... 8P

Ghostly figures -- one of my favorite kinds of blur. The figures are well placed in the frame, and their movements are interesting. Just a suggestion, but you might crop the purple portion off the top. I think it would give more importance to the figures. IMNSHO, this shot doesn't seem like a candidate for portrait composition.

I really like the technique and the enigmatic subject matter -- is that a face or isn't it. I also like the almost symmetry -- you have light on both sides of the frame, but it's not the same.

I'm pretty much with the others on this. I think the technique is super, but it needs something else in there -- a person, an animal, a building, a flower, a tree with turning leaves, etc., to give it more visual interest.
