John W. Jones, Kind Caretakerby ClickNSeeComment: Interesting story - but the interest largely comes from the words, not the image as a whole. Horizon is slanting. Background is distracting (too much detail behind trees) |

Honor For One of Their Ownby SandyPComment: I think that this is a good use of the US flag symbolism - I have said on some other images using the flag that "Without wishing to offend, the patriotic call implicit in the flag may switch off some non-US voters - very slightly cheapens the image for me as it feels as though the symbol is being used to evoke an emotive response that the picture would not otherwise demand." Here, I think that you have managed to combine it with a little more dignity and relevance than most.
However, I am not a fan of the selective desat - too much white here for a full desat to work, I think. Maybe a muted tone would have worked better? |

Only the dead have seen the end of war - Platoby mrmojoComment: technically very good use of desat - normally a turn off for me when this bold, but this is better than most. Maybe losing a little too much detail in the top of frame.

Remembranceby TruegshtComment: Like the motion in the flag and strong colours. background is a little distracting - chain link not up there with the best of background imagery!

Reflexionsby timmotykaComment: just don't feel that the the ghosting is really working here - maybe in part because it is not very sharp. Iron Worksby a1leyez0nm3Comment: Lovely picture. offline horizon works for me here. But relevance to challenge a little harder for me to see (sorry!). |

Charlotte in her web...by ergoComment: nice take on the subject - slightly more detail in the spider would have been nice (bit of dodging?) |

Six Feet Underby wetlandComment: interesting location! colours feel a bit yellow and the contrast between graveyard and bar a little too sudden. Would have been interesting if there was a shot with grave on foreground and just the "six feet under" slightly out of focus above. |

Old & Weatheredby HeavyComment: interesting shapes - I like the sky too. background to cross detracts a little from the shapes, maybe (though hard to see how that could be avoided). Would be interested in seeing this reshot with shallow DoF to soften the background, but enough to retain the shape of that interesting church. |
