Cutieby AJFIComment: What kind of bird is that? Great color. Unfortunately, the bird is a little too small to make out the details. Can't even tell if he's in focus or not. If this were my image I would have cut out from the fork to the right. That would have given me more space for the bird. Composition and pov are good with what you have now. Lighting details on the leaves provide a slight distraction. I know you don't chose where they land or when they land - makes photographing birds even more difficult. Guess that's what makes them fun. Good luck in the challenge! |

What The Hell You Looking At !!by HornOUBetComment: great capture. I think this could be improved with a lower point of view and a little better focus. I know you only have a split second to react, but for next time. :) Love the expression on his face. |

stand back...the next fry is mineby clictacameraComment: Wow - he looks mad! The other ones look mad at him! The focus on this image is not very good. I know the birds are moving; maybe bump up your ISO next time so you can get a faster shutterspeed. Not sure aobut the white line at the bottom. Doesn't enhance. Good luck in the challenge! |

Seagullsby stormyComment: Honestly, beautiful landscape. Too bad those white dots are all over the image. Seems to me the important part of the image is the view - its incredible. The birds are there just because they are there. They don't add to the image nor make up an important part of the image. I love this field and would actually like to see this with the birds cloned out. You missed with the challenge topic - birds as the main subject - at least for me. Good luck in the challenge! |

Bird on a Wireby MrsFuzzButtComment: Cool bird. Like the composition and the crop. What needs work is the focus. I know you were probably pretty far away - at least I hope those powerlines are up high! And I know wild birds are not easy to capture - I'm sure this one wasn't an exception. 6 - good luck in the challenge! |

Tweet, tweetby nikuserComment: Okay, it is a bird. Kinda cute little bird too. And he's in focus - even the tree is in focus. I believe the image is a little over saturated - the orange is almost blinding. There are many amazing real bird image in this challenge. Held up to them, this image kind of fails. On its own, its pretty cute. Looks a little oversharpened. Creative though - this is the only one in the challenge. Good luck! |

Love Birdsby FrostyPawsComment: While this is a neat statue of birds, I think it is outdone in this challenge by real birds. The backlighting from the window provides a nice glow but it can't overcome the staticness of this image. Hoestly, I know nothing is going to happen and nothing has happened so it makes the image kind of, well, boring. This is good for what it is, its just not my taste as far as images go. Part of scoring a challenge is the technicals. You did okay with that. Part of scoring in a challenge is viewer reaction. You got none from me. I admire your creativeness in using a statue but I can't give you a great score. All of this should be taken with a grain of salt. It is strictly my opinion and taste. 4 |

Starlightby chisholmsmithComment: Cute cockatiel. I'm sure, if this is your bird, you have a more interesting background/environment to photograph him in. One of the great things about nature photography, even captive nature, is to see the animal in an environment. This image doesn't give me that and I think that is its greatest flaw. Put him on a swing or a fake tree he can peak out of - it would do him justice. I have an african grey - birds are wonderful pets! Good luck in the challenge! |

Night Heronby rlinn3Comment: Good capture. Focus is a little off but moving birds are not that easy unless you're working at 1/1000 or better. Image a little noisy - not sure if its ISO noise or enlarging after a crop. I would have liked the crop a little looser - this crop seems to constrain the bird - I like my birds free - a little space does wonders! Personal taste - take it as that. Detail in the feathers quite good considering the soft focus. Good luck in the challenge! |
