Great Falls National Parkby emaynerComment: I always wondered what the view looked like from the Virginia side. Think I'll stick the to MD side. ;) Have you been there? The canal makes for some great images. I'm not too far from you - let me know if you're out shooting one day and you need company. As far as the image? Great falls is very hit or miss. Its so huge its difficult to do it justice in a photograph. I'm still not able to create a shot I'm satisfied with. But keep trying - kayakers are a great find when its high tide - only the brave ones go out. :) You had a great sky that day! |

Texasby JutildaComment: I love cows. These are cool cows. These are bored cows. Composition excellent and the text perfectly balances the entire thing. Should have scored much better. DPCers don't appreciate cows. :( |

Mountain Dramaby SandyPComment: Wow. another good B&W. I love the Estes Park area, even if it gives me headaches. You visited at a great time of year from the results. :) |

Feliz Navidad!by SandyPComment: I'm surprised at the score too. This is a beautiful image and one that would be successful commercially. Excellent work and ignore the score. Geez, you almost put me in a festive mood. :) |

Lights. Camera. Action!by graphicfunkComment: Now this I know. Aubrey Bodine - elevating the working man to art. Yeah, he was film and 40 years ago and a pictoralist (a dirty word around here, or so it seems)... Excellent work. Wish there was more space. Should have done better in the challenge. |

The Art of Compromiseby graphicfunkComment: I'm trying to think of who this reminds me of and its there and not there. 1950's, painter... it'll come to me someday in an AHA moment. I rather like it. Fits the challenge but the voters always want something in thier face. Excellent work and mind as usual. :) |

dry seasonby tcmartinComment: I find this amazingly humorous. You've elevated the kitsch object to one of art. Typically we see statues, toys, stuffed animals shot with no regard to the rest of the image. Here, you given it an amazing setting and lighting that gives the object an entire new world with in which to consider it. Not sure I'm explaining myself well but you've given me a view of something not real and made it seem as if it is real - it has a life, it has emotion, it has attitude. Much like what oyu accomplished on your woody image. Its funny, if I stare at it long enough, I can see him moving his head aorund to look at me, wondering why I'm there. Its not an easy task to give life to something so lifeless. Kudos on an excellent job. |
