Safely colorfulby tyrkinnComment: CC......Hello tyrkinn
Fits The Challenge-Yes, P.S. Great first entry~!!
Composition-Nice..great perspective view.
Background-Okay
My Opinion-Okay it's an art museum so you did very well with the lighting/window reflection there. I think the display is fantastic. I wish they would of used several colors, but ya take what ya get! This is a cool shot. I did admire it during the challenge and voted on it. I'm sorry I didn't leave a comment and glad to have the chance now.
I do think a bit of levels and brightness adjustment would make the colors more true. They seem a bit flat, and of course that may be due to the lighting there.
It's a different shot, I like it. Good find, way to go!! Message edited by author 2003-04-16 19:18:39. |

Composition-Real nice set up. The crop is just a bit tight on the left side.
Background-Super
My Opinion-I love turquoise jewelry and wear it often. Your squash blossom is beautiful. Photographing jewelry is an art _all_ by it's self. Very difficult and you did well here. I do think the dof is too shallow for this particular shot. I'm sure that is what's causing the focus to look soft. Also I wondered why you used an ISO of 200. I really don't know your camera so maybe there is a reason. Also I don't know what >ND8< wb is? All in all I enjoyed the shot. Keep up the good work. |

My Opinion-That sunshine!! I can not knock sun, since I live in Oregon and we praise and worship sunshine here. 'overexposed' I see from the comments below [including mine]you've got the idea. Also it was mentioned that reducing the aperture/raising the shutter speed/or adjusting the white balance can help correct the harsh lighting. It's a little dance and you either have too little or too much. Just have to keep shooting/playing with you camera and shoot tons of pictures. Good effort, keep going keep coming up with your own unique ideas. This shot has great texture. |

Fits The Challenge-Yes-Nice colors.
Composition-Room for improvement
Background-n/a
My Opinion-I like this shot, but not the crop. I think the view needed to be a bit wider, it feels squished to me. [?] Maybe it's just that I don't see the full ends of the propeller.
You mention that your camera is limited in adjustments. That may be so but I think you did a super job. The plane is in focus the colors are very good and the light is good. Camera or not you know what your doing. Good work.

Fits The Challenge-Yes
Composition-Nicely done.
Background-Room for improvement.
My Opinion-Interesting, unique, different shot. I like it. It has a bit of a sophisticated feel..../?\high fashion. The colors are outstanding. The black jacket is so dark that the gloves/hands really don't show up well. That against the stark/white background is too much of a contrast for the uneven light used. Good work, hope you'll do more like this. |

Composition-Nicely done

My Opinion-This is a love shot of water lilies. I think the fact that you got down _low_ really added to the impact. The composition, focus and color are very nice. My only negative observation is that there is some over exposure. This of course is a factor for all digital photographers. LIGHT. Either too little or too much. No, doubt this is a good shot. I'd think it would make a good print, it's got a lot of appeal. |

Fits The Challenge-Almost -but shy of a full meal.
Composition-Good
Background-n/a
My Opinion-Hum, I see from your note that this shot has a meaning for you. Good, but it really doesn't for the rest of us. Still congrats to Mike! The shot is not bad at all, it's really very good. I don't think it's a 'color' shot. However if you do -----then fine--that's what counts. I don't think it earned 3.7 for an average because folks thought other wise. I like this shot just not on subject to me. Good photo.

Fits The Challenge-Yes
Composition-Good
Background-Really nice.
My Opinion-Yes, a lot of processing for this shot. Your extra effort not only paid off here but it shows. Only two negative points to make: The very top is not straight, and the space at the bottom. I do love negative space in shots, but don't think it adds here. The colors are great. The idea unique and so special for the challenge. Good work. |
