Snugglin'by JackoComment: Not sure what you did with this photo...smoothed things out? Maybe nothing but the feet look strange. |

The Early Birdby jitamsComment: CC: Hello -jitams
Fits The Challenge- Cliches brought out some really nice shots and your "The Early Bird" held up very well.
Composition- Don't see how it could of been better, great timing, light, and action. 1/1500Sec Background- Beautiful blue sky, really shows off the gulls.
My Opinion-Like I said below: Nice capture, good camera work. Love the color, light, and composition. This shot might not of been a 'cliche' here on DPC but it's a winning shot. Great work.

Fuchsiaby BNCComment: CC: -morning to you BNC
Fits The Challenge-Yes very well. Flowers are one of the most popular cliches.
Composition-centered and it works here well. THIS is the main and only subject in the shot.
Background-Nothing to remark about really. It's a nice complimentary color of blue.
Digital Processing-Nice. The flower has some natural white lines that are a little bright but not bad. The lighting is coming from the bottom and it's a bit strong.Good focus and colors.
My Opinion-Nice work.I personally like the shadows but can see that better lighting would of improved the score.
Thanks for posting this colorful flower for CC.

Bird of Paradiseby CubComment: CC: hello to you CUB
Fits The Challenge-Yes, pet category.
Composition-Nice. The bird is the subject and in focus while the background is not yet we can still see that it's a tropica plant. Perfect aperture I'd say. I love this type of DOF. My only comment would be the that the birds tail is cut off.
Background-Very nice with the bird.
Digital Processing-Nice, I would of liked it a little lighter.
My Opinion-Over all a good photo. The bird is centered, and due to the shallow focus it pops just as it should. I'm not crazy for the crop. Otherwise I like this shot and like the bird too.

Coal to Diamondby karmatComment: CC: hello to Karmat
Fits The Challenge-Yes.
Composition-Good but could of been better.
Background-Too dark, can't see the ring.
Digital Processing-Fine
My Opinion-Karmat this was a great idea, and it works with charcoal just fine. Who need coal? The problem is that the charcoal is so black that we can't see the ring well enough and the angle keeps us from the beauty of the ring. How could this be corrected..? Maybe with levels. I saved this and adjusted the levels...this is a good shot.
I also note that some of the folks that left comments made no mention of it being too dark. _Different_ monitors? I guess so.
Thanks for letting me look over your shot. It's a not bad, it's just dark.
