Nice photo. Interesting car, but I'm really for fascinated by the guy with the tats, smoking in the doorway next to the "no children allowed". There's so much going on in the photo, it's great... though I think the "RedEye" sign is a bit dominant. |

The Back Streetsby SaraRComment: Commenting as part of my Team Suck duties...
A beautiful street photo... processing makes it look a little cartoonish though. I love the look on the woman's face (on the left)... she's NOT HAPPY with the fella. Would have love this if the guy in the centre showed some plumbers crack... ala RTK's Top Shelf. |

Best HDR image in the FS. Beautiful photo, beautifully processed. I love the clouds, and the boats. I gave this an 8 in voting, and trying to think what you could have done to get the extra one or two... only thing I could think of would be to not enter a HDR photo so soon after a HDR challenge... HDR fatigue I guess... which is probably a bit too harsh, to be honest. Sorry. |

A beautiful capture. Congratulations on making 300 challenges. I love the flares/sunspots, the back lighting, and the most of all the emotion of this photo. Tilt is a negative for me, as is the prominence of the green pharmacy sign. One thing I have to say, Deb, don't change... we love you... look forward to seeing your next 300 challenge submissions. |

What can I say about this... um... bird is nice and sharp, good use of DOF makes the birds pop nicely. There's just not enough of interest to make this interesting enough to do well in a FS... I feel. |

This was a bit hard done by in voting... without a doubt, deserved to be higher. Great contrast, and great capture... unconventional composition probably hurt it, and why did you crop the boys foot off? I like the unconventional composition, but the cropped foot disturbs me. Beautiful photo, who cares what the average DPC voter thinks. Well done. |

I am absolutely shocked that this didn't do better with the voters. Nice and sharp in the centre, and the detail is great. I'd have lost the emptiness on the left, but that's me... and perhaps some of the OOF section of the leaf on the right... but as I said... me... I gave it a 7 during voting, and probably would have given it more if the centre was more of the photo. |

I quite like this photo and gave it a 6 in voting. Would have given it a 7 or 8 if something other than just the trees on the left was in focus. Great composition, great capture... just the focus hurt you big time I reckon. |

The Ugliest Ducklingby skewsmeComment: Commenting as part of my Team Suck duties...
Brave move submitting something "ugly" in a free study. Lucky to get the shots at all given your description, and I imagine you'd have been under some pressure to take the photos quickly... never know if mummy is close by... image is VERY top heavy, and the feet are OOF. Fortunate capture, but probably not the DPC enough, especially for a FS. |

Off to War.....by NikonJebComment: Commenting as part of my Team Suck duties...
Great photo Jeb. Capture the emotion and feel of the period in this photo. Could quite easily have been taken during the civil war. Can't suggest anything that could have done better/differently, really... not without making it a completely different photo, and then, it'd lose a lot, and probably wouldn't be better... just different. |
