This is great for the challenge, its simple, and very segregated. Although the subject is hard to distinguish, it feels very alone and separated from everything. I assume its something for birds? The subject isn't too interesting, but its complimented by a beautiful sky, and exposed very well. I love the tones, and going with a B/W is a good choice, especially since the subject is black.

Good use of Rule of 3rds, like the sky, but too much water for me. The shadow of the subject isn't pronounced, so maybe a little bit of a tighter crop would work in my opinion, the water just makes the image dominantly gray.

I think the image scored well, Id give this a 6. Nice job.

I personally like the cropping, it would make a nice poster. The composition is decent and I think the score is a bit low for this, but probably scored under average because of the negative black space underneath on the bottom of the frame. I love your inclusion of the foliage on the right but the mountains feel hidden to me, and I want to see more of them when looking at this.

The colors are awesome. I also love the lighting through the dramatic clouds. The photo isn't bad, just flawed and DPC voters are picky as you probably know.

This is just a perfect Light on White image, contrasted perfectly I think. I am no expert with shots like this, but know that from what I have seen on this site, this is really good. The subject of choice is interesting enough and delicate enough to fit the theme in this case. Its simple and makes for some good Bedroom or Kitchen art.

I like how you managed to keep the branch upright as if it was floating. The crop is also good, not too tight, and not too much negative space. The image could use more tonal range, there is some highlights on the leaves, but nothing too dramatic which is good for the challenge, but probably prevented this from easily winning a ribbon. Well done, and well deserved finish.

I will say that I am a fan of the image, and probably biased since Im fascinated with learing how to read auras, but as far as the image goes, its a bit too black even though I know you intended it that way since the lines stand out more. Its a good creative take on the challenge and fits the theme well, its just that the outline of the model is uneven and inconsistent throughout the frame. Maybe if you had a stronger light source, the outline would become more pronounced.

The reason why it scored under the average of 5 is because its one of those images that don't score well on DPC. Similar to impressionism, its a love or hate it image and I see you do have a favorite which is always rewarding regardless of how it scores. I would give it a 6, love the composition.

Wow, one of my favorite landscapes in the world, the city and the park...I have to try this again sometime..10 for the excellent job of filling the frame, my only wish is that the buildings in the front didn't block the sides a bit, but great tonal range and DOF... only in NY!
