Nicely done. This is one of those shots that's more difficult to pull off than people can imagine. It's hard to believe it has been almost six years already! I did the original shot with a little Canon point-n-shoot -- my first digital camera. I can remember spending a whole night fiddling with various ways of doing it.

The one thing I regret is that I rarely get inspired to put that much effort into an entry nowadays. DPC was such a fresh, new thing for me back then, and now I find myself submitting for the sake of submitting, and I haven't been putting the real effort into entries nowadays. Maybe this will give me a gentle nudge in the right direction, reminding me of my "old days" at DPC :)

I'm afraid it just doesn't look like a whole lot of thought was put into this one. Yes, it meets the challenge, but being out of focus, with a distracting book in the background, poorly composed and smaller than the allowable size, it just needed a little more effort to be a viable entry.
