Nice Hatby thomaspeopleComment: Very good work with the exposure here to get detail in the tux and the hat against a black background, and still have the white tie not look blown. About the only "eh" is I don't like the cigar in his mouth. Maybe had he held it in his hand instead? |

In The Dog Houseby thomaspeopleComment: Hey Walter - this definitely deserved a better score. I didn't vote in this challenge (I was in the other one) but I like this quite a bit! Fits the challenge and I really rather like the lush greens. |

Moonlightby dahvedComment: I rather like the juxtaposition of the moon and the colored (only in Florida!) building lights. |

trainedcatfish.jpgby KelliComment: Actually, this is kinda cool. Doesn't even look like water - looks more like plastic film and the catfish looks like some sort of evil alien creature. I'm betting it would have done quite a bit better in the challenge, too. |

Nightfall's Looking Glassby SandyPComment: An awesome capture, Sandy. Gorgeous crisp colors and the reflections are perfect. Hard to believe it was that calm in Texas! Great score, great finish! |

Caution - night photography can be addicting. I've only tried it once, but it's very seductive. I'd never have thought this was in Columbus, Ohio, nor would I have thought it a scale replica. Excellent job in disguising both facts. I gave this a 7 - really like the tones and the perspective, and the light on the right is both intriguing and creates lovely reflections on that side. Another excellent score, too! |

St. Joseph'sby DanSigComment: Trading Post comment
I gave this one a 5. I think it would be much more dramatic in black and white due to the limited color naturally available. I do rather like the centered composition as it suits this structure well. Though it makes for unusual proportions, I think it looks better if the sky is cropped significantly. |

Night Light for the Wearyby chaliceComment: Trading Post comment
First - congrats on a new personal best score!! This is a good night shot that tells a story. I like the inclusion of the dark space in front balanced by the tree leaves along the top. The only distraction is the shadow or dark section running up the wall from the bench - not sure if it IS a shadow or where the wall has been stained. Still, the overall impact of this shot is very good. Well seen, well executed. |

I gave this an 8, Eric. I really like night shots like this and will eventually get some of my own. The vantage point you chose is perfect for this kind of shot - nice balance in the buildings on the skyline, both in height and lighting. I like the way the road curves and disappears into the trees. Color and sharpness are good as well.
(Interesting reading comments after I've written mine. I actually like the dark section in the lower left quite a bit.) |

Door to Heaven.jpgby DrAchooComment: Beautiful capture of the light. Did you take a shot vertically? I'd like to see the rest of the pipes. |
